Industrial Vents

Hurricane was the original industrial ventilator to incorporate Edmond’s patented vertical vane technology.
The Hurricane is a wind driven ventilator that maximises energy savings through free-air cooling. Hurricane also has the ability to improve air quality by removing pollutants, improve humidity control by removing moisture build-up and improve the comfort of those within the building being ventilated by removing heat build-up.
The Hurricane has been intuitively designed with a heavy duty bearing system to improve performance and durability in high wind speeds. This bearing system prevents fine dust particles and fumes from harsh environmental conditions from entering into the vented space.
Edmonds vertical vane Hurricane range of ventilator have been performance tested to Australian Standard AS4740: Performance of Natural Ventilators to determine flow rate capacities and been wind load tested to 195km/h and tested for rain penetration to Australian Standard AS2428.1: Dynamic Wind Load & Rain Penetration Testing.

The EcoPower incorporates Australian engineered ‘hybrid’ patented ventilation technology. Its hybrid design is an innovative combination of natural ventilation and efficient mechanical ventilation and operated in either natural mode; power mode; or both modes simultaneously.
The natural mode functions through two processes;
1. The ‘stack effect’ allows hot air to escape as a result of buoyancy pressure.
2. Ambient wind drives the turbine/ impeller unit thereby creating flow through a centrifugal suction process
The efficient power mode allows flow rates to be boosted as required by powering the Electronic Commutated (EC) motor to drive the turbine/ impeller. This provides on-demand response to meet performance conditions.
How do I know which vent and size to choose?
Selecting the right vent in the right size for your building ensures you’ll get the right amount of ventilation in the space. In general, vent are sized and rated by their ability to move air in volume over time i.e. litres per second (l/s), cubic meter per second (m3/s) – air flow rate.
Smaller vents generate less air flow rate are ideal for smaller buildings, and in larger buildings they can be spaced out to exhaust air evenly through the building. Ventilators that generate higher air flow rate work better in larger buildings as less roof penetration is required.
